Role: executive producer
"As Dores da Alma" is a transformative exhibition showcasing the work of Amanda Barroso, a prominent emerging artist from Valinhos. Celebrating her 10-year career, the exhibition features a dual focus: the introspective series addressing mental health challenges and a broader collection reflecting her artistic journey.  The series "As Dores da Alma" delves into the complexities of mental health, presenting emotions such as anxiety, depression, and moments of tranquility through a powerful visual narrative. Created during a period of personal struggle, these artworks not only serve as a medium of healing for the artist but also invite viewers to engage in essential conversations about mental health, breaking the silence surrounding these topics.
Complementing the series, the exhibition includes additional works by Barroso, further highlighting her artistic evolution across various mediums beyond tattooing. Through "As Dores da Alma," Ocupe.Arte aims to foster community dialogue, reflection, and support for mental health awareness.
This project, which was funded through the 2024 Paulo Gustavo Award for Visual Arts in Valinhos, is the first in the 'Plataformas' series by the Ocupe.Arte collective, aimed at supporting emerging artists. Through this initiative, the group provides mentorship, resources, and opportunities for young talents to develop their individual projects, fostering a vibrant cultural landscape in Valinhos.
