Since 2022, Cajueiro has been dedicated to capturing the vibrant and dynamic essence of the Gegants de Barcelona, in collaboration with the Gent a Terra Association of El Raval. The Gegants, towering figures paraded during traditional Catalan festivals, are a quintessential part of Barcelona's cultural heritage.
In addition to the Gegants, Cajueiro also photographs the fascinating bestiary, including the Boi de Barcelona and the Dragon. These mythical creatures, with their rich symbolism and elaborate designs, add a layer of magic and mystery to the festivities.
Cajueiro’s photographs delve into the rich symbolism and intricate craftsmanship of these giants and bestiary figures, providing a visual narrative that celebrates their historical significance and the communal spirit they inspire. Through his lens, he captures not only the grandeur of the Gegants and bestiary but also the fervor and dedication of the communities that bring them to life.
