Role: executive producer
'A Beleza e a Dor: Brasil e Nigeria' is an evolution of the original exhibition first presented in Brazil. This new version brings together Tomás Cajueiro’s photographic series 'A Beleza e a Dor', from 2013, with pictorial works by Anderson Vicentini, expanding the dialogue between image and memory to explore the cultural connections between Brazil and Nigeria.
By intertwining photography and painting, the exhibition opens space for new reflections on beauty, pain, ancestry, and resistance—now brought to life through distinct visual languages. It also sheds light on the deep historical and cultural ties between Brazil and Nigeria, connections often obscured by Eurocentric narratives of Brazilian identity.
Presented both in Brazil and in Spain, 'A Beleza e a Dor: Brasil e Nigeria' reached new audiences and invited fresh interpretations in each setting. Developed by the Brazilian collective Ocupe.Arte: Valinhos and supported by the National Culture Fund (Lei Paulo Gustavo), the project premiered in 2024 in Valinhos (São Paulo) and was exhibited in 2025 at Sala Or in Barcelona, reaffirming its commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
